Sigma Kappa provides valuable leadership development opportunities to its members. As an organization Sigma Kappa encourages our members to be involved in at least one extracurricular activity during their collegiate experience. Because of this focus on involvement outside of Sigma Kappa, our sisters are able to engage with the campus and community in ways that are important to them.

Sigma Kappa is incredibly active both on campus and within our community! Here are some of the events we participated in or hosted this last year:

The Walk to End Alzheimer’s:

Each year, the Beta Omega chapter creates a team and joins the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  While our whole chapter gathers together to walk, many of our members also volunteer their time setting up, tearing down, handing out fliers, and working the registration table! The Walk is a great way to support a cause that is near and dear to our hearts and grow even closer as a chapter.

Bingo Nights:

Gerontology is one of our philanthropies, and we love representing this philanthropy by volunteering our time at different retirement communities around Omaha! This past year, we held bingo nights, made Valentine's Day cards and treats, and visited residents during the holidays!

Panhellenic Social:

It's amazing to be a part of a school with such a tight-knit Greek Community! Therefore, we show our appreciation by hosting Panhellenic Socials! We were all Lucky to be Panhellenic!

Parents Weekend:

We love sharing our Sigma Kappa love with the people who raised us! Once a semester, we come together with our parents to celebrate them! This past Spring, we crafted together, and got to know more about the people who raised our amazing sisters!
